the Y
ReCranked in Schools (RiS) is our term based in-school alternative to mainstream learning. Our team bring ReCranked to schools, alternative programs and youth settings, supporting students to learn bike maintenance and restoration skills.
RiS is a ‘hands on’ program which builds core skills such as confidence and team work. RiS is for anyone, and works well for vulnerable young people or those disengaged from learning as it is strength-based and makes learning fun.
Using the distraction of bikes, RiS fosters an environment to build new skills, confidence and meaningful relationship and team work skills with peers. It is common to see students looking forward to RiS and proudly showing off their new skills to those around them.
Cost
RiS is fee for service, delivered for one hour weekly during school terms in the Ballarat region. The team come to you, supply all equipment and two amazing facilitators run the program with a maximum of 12 young people. Check out our brochure and pricing here. If you have questions contact Tom on 0429 191 193 .

“Students love the program. Friday morning before you arrive, there is a real buzz in the classroom with students who participate. In the afternoon, they talk a lot about where they are going riding on the weekend, who they can get to bring their bikes in to be fixed and what type of bike they are saving up for now.”
