Diversity &
Inclusion Project

Local young people have told us they care deeply about diversity and inclusion. Y Ballarat values the individual worth, uniqueness and inclusion of all people and have listened!

Our Diversity & Inclusion Project Worker is:

  • Supporting Y Ballarat on its journey of continuous improvement to create an organisation that seeks, values and celebrates diversity.
  • Working alongside LGBTIQA+ Pride groups in schools to connect and collaborate on a multi school level, creating opportunities for students to network, learn skills and connect in with the broader LGBTIQA+ community, both locally and beyond.

We believe in the power of inspired young people and are excited to be working alongside local LGBTIQA+ students on activities and initiatives that meet their needs.

Art exhibition collaborative piece – Badge making workshop

This is a drop-in badge making workshop, where young people aged 12-18 can create badges to take home, and also make ones to contribute to a collaborative piece which will be entered into our annual Art Exhibition. We’ll have a big communal canvas to pin badges on, doodle and paint things around their badge on the canvas, or just come and hang out in an inclusive space.

Badge making workshop, drop-in sessions:

  • Thursday 13th April, 2pm – 5pm, Jumpstart Room, Barkly Square 25-29 Barkly St, Ballarat East.
  • Thursday 20th April, 2pm – 5pm, Jumpstart Room, Barkly Square 25-29 Barkly St, Ballarat East.
