In 2015 AMAZING young woman and Founder of the Bags of Joy campaign, Jessy 19, pitched her Christmas wish to provide shoeboxes filled with gifts for disadvantaged children at Christmas to Y Ballarat. The Y Ballarat team loved Jessy’s idea and the rest is history.
Bags of Joy is in its 7th year providing gifts to young people who may otherwise miss out. 2020 saw 175 bags distributed to local children and young people aged 0-18 years. This year the focus is on 12-21 year olds.
Jessy and Y Ballarat are again appealing to the generosity of the Ballarat community for donations. You can help in the following ways:
Donate online – due to COVID, we are encouraging cash donations. Donations $2+ are tax deductible.
