Jump Start is a hands-on education program supporting young people to gain automotive skills, experience and explore automotive as a possible future career path.
A Jump Start program runs for 4-6 weeks with two 3 &1/2 hour sessions each week. Participants complete an induction, tool intro and occupational health and safety requirements before getting into the fun which includes changing oil, tyres, wipers and brake pads, disassembling and reassembling engines and transmissions or even bringing a small machine back to life!
To get involved you don’t have to be at school or have any automotive experience. Courses run several times each year and are aimed at different groups [for example: age groups, gender or learner drivers]. Fill in the form on this page to register your interest!
Jump Start lives in the Auto Workshop, Barkly Square 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat.
