At Newington OSHC, we offer Before School care and Afterschool care and we are an advocate for learning through play. We provide children with multiple play spaces, both indoor and out, for small and large groups. We also provide space for children to curl up with a good book if they choose to decide that is what they need.
Our programming is based on children’s interests, ideas, and observations. We also encourage family input and feedback on this. This ensures an engaging program is provided to children in attendance.
As a transport venue for Before School Care, we understand the importance of smooth transitions and routine. We strive for this through consistent staffing and keeping children informed of changes, so they do not feel rushed or detached.
Educators model the values we wish for the children to learn, such as Honesty, Respect, Caring and Responsibility. Children also learn responsibility through our breakfast programs where they grow in self-reliance and find they are capable human beings. There are leadership roles available as well if children wish to take on one of these.
