the Y
You could feel the enthusiasm in the air, as this year’s kindergarten children arrived for their first session of the year. There were new shoes, hats and drink bottles, some nerves and the expectation of lots of fun!
This year, 88 Y Kinders’ services across the state welcomed over 4,000 children to their centres.
At North Bendigo Preschool, the teaching team had ensured that their kinder environment was a great place to start the year, creating a beautiful nurturing place to stimulate imaginations, learning and exploration.
This included bringing the class pets back onsite, one of which was Tululah, the turtle, who had been away for the summer. Tululah is part of the Preschool’s responsible pet care program. She returned to all new accessories, ready to provide learning opportunities and welcome the class of 2022.
“It was so lovely to be back and see the children’s excitement when they came in for their first session. They couldn’t wait to get together, to play and to make new friends. Our team is really looking forward to getting to know them all and we’re anticipating a wonderful first term together, exploring, discovering and learning.” said Alex Ham, Teacher at North Bendigo Preschool.
“A few of the children were a little bit hesitant at the start, but by the end of the session, everyone wanted to stay and didn’t want to go home!” she added.
It may be just the first few weeks, but our amazing kinder teams are ready to provide a year of quality early learning and engaging experiences for every child at every service, every day.
