Jump Start is a hands-on automotive program supporting young people to gain skills, experience and explore automotive as a potential career!
Jump Start is an alternative education program run each school term via two weekly sessions. Participants complete induction before getting into the fun…changing oil, tyres, wipers and brake pads, disassembling and reassembling engines and transmissions or bringing a small machine back to life.
Jump Start is for young people disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Jump Start provides a ‘circuit-breaker’ for participants, in a relaxed, hands-on environment which operates similarly to a workplace. No previous auto experience is required but we do expect participants make effort to attend all sessions.
Jump Start is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services: Strong & Resilient Communities Fund .
