Growing with our communities: Highlights of 2023-24

October 24, 2024 Community Impact

Our Community Impact Report was launched at our AGM on the 23 October, showcasing highlights as we have grown and evolved with our communities during 2023-24.

As we work towards Vision 2030, the powerful stories in the Report illustrate the four ribbons of our strategic plan in action – Community Wellbeing, A Just World, Meaningful Work and a Sustainable Planet.

Our Youth and Advisory Group share how their role with the Y has contributed to their personal journeys of growth and we reflect on how their voices have helped shape us an organisation.

We celebrate significant staff milestones and the achievements of our teams, as they bring passion and commitment to their roles every day to make positive changes in the lives of so many.

Throughout the year, we witnessed innovation in staff development along with new collaborations between our service areas, bringing added dimensions to our Outside School Hours Care programs. We invested in new sustainability initiatives and facility improvement and expansion.

We progressed into the next phase of the Best Start, Best Life as we put in strong foundations for the delivery of Pre-Prep in the Ararat community, with 30 hours of kindergarten for four-year-old children commencing in 2025.

There’s much to celebrate, and we acknowledge that for every story told in the Report there are so many more happening every day, all contributing to the incredible impact that we make for young people and communities.

The Y acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to Elders past, present and future.
