Diversity &
Inclusion Project

Local young people told us they care deeply about LGBTQIA+ and inclusion. Y Ballarat values the individual worth, uniqueness and inclusion of all people and listened!

The Y’s Diversity & Inclusion Project Worker works alongside Pride groups in local secondary schools to connect and collaborate on a multi school level, creating opportunities for students to network, learn skills and connect in with the broader LGBTIQA+ community, both locally and beyond.

We believe in the power of inspired young people and are excited to be working together with local LGBTIQA+ students on activities and initiatives that meet their needs.

How to be an ally?

An ally is someone who supports and advocates for equitable treatment of a community other than their own. If you want to stand up to the disproportionate challenges faced by trans and gender diverse young people, take action by educating yourself to become a better ally today.

The team at Minus18 have put together some great resources to help you become an ally

The Y acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to Elders past, present and future.
