Celebrating our OSHC teams!

July 31, 2024 OHSC

On OSHC Educators’ Day we’d like to shine a light on our brilliant teams who create welcoming, fun and safe environments for over 1,000 children.

Across our nine Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) venues, our dedicated Educators build strong relationships with children and families. They ensure that kids can be themselves, enjoy leisure-based activities, learn new skills and have fun.

Their outstanding commitment to program planning, infusion of creativity and the selection of activities based on children’s interests, create experiences that engage and excite.

Over 800 families use our OSHC services throughout the year. This support helps them participate in employment, study, and other commitments, all while being assured that their children are doing so much more than just spending time in a safe space.

As the only OSHC service in some areas, our teams and programs play a vital role in the fabric of the community.

“Having access to after school hours care has allowed me to return to work. This has been great for our family and achieving a work life balance. Without OSHC this wouldn’t be possible,” a parent at Hamilton OSHC explained.

For our teams, it’s not the case of doing the same thing every day. They are continually flexible and responsive.

“The ability of our teams to constantly adapt and change, always impresses me,” said Elvie Jenkins, our OSHC Operations Manager. “In addition to each child’s individual needs, our Educators also have to be across regulations, Department and school requirements and also our high standards as a Y Outside School Hours Care provider.”

“I admire how in tune they are with their communities. Their energy, enthusiasm and care make our programs really localised and special.”

A huge thank you to all our amazing OSHC staff, who make such a difference in the lives of children, families and communities!
