In celebration of its tenth year, in 2024 we are aiming to provide 220 Bags of Joy to vulnerable young people this Christmas!
In 2014 an amazing young person named Jessy approached Y Ballarat with an idea to provide presents to local young people who might otherwise go without at Christmas time. Since then, Jessy and Y Ballarat has run Bags of Joy annually, growing and strengthening the program each year. Jessy has supported the creation of Bags of Joy for young people in the Maryborough area.
In 2023, Bags of Joy provided 210 gifts to young people at Christmas time, funded purely by donations from individuals, organisations and businesses. In celebration of its tenth year, in 2024 we aim to raise the funds to provide 220 Bags of Joy!

Donations are open, donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Just $30 will brighten a young person’s Christmas this year.
