A huge congratulations to our team at Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten!

Seven out of seven! Following their Assessment & Ratings (A&R), these results were the news that the Y Kinders’ team at Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten had been eagerly waiting for. 

Meg Egberts, Teacher at the Kinder shared enthusiastically, “The final outcome of Exceeding in all seven Quality Areas was really validating. The team here at Ashwood are beyond proud of ourselves and could not have asked for a better outcome!”

Located in the City of Monash, Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten is one of 17 Y Kinders services in this Local Government Area.

The kindergarten feels inclusive and welcoming the moment you step inside the doors.

As Meg outlines, “Our anti-bias approach is fundamental to all we do in our work. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our service is culturally safe space for everyone. We are currently taking a deep dive into the principles of Slow Pedagogy and exploring and unpacking the latest evidence-based research in this approach.” 

The Assessment and Rating process was something that the service saw as a valuable opportunity to showcase their unique strengths and hard work. Their approach, environment, documentation and outstanding quality shone through.

Every team member is committed to bringing the “best version” of themselves as Early Childhood Educators, every day.

“We strive to create a culture of critical reflection, that invites us to question, wonder, challenge and be curious in our vision to strive for the best learning outcomes for the children,” Meg explained speaking on behalf of the excited team.

“As the Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader, I am so grateful for the educators I work alongside. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of such a supportive and dedicated team of staff. We value and respect the perspectives of each other and embrace diversity in all its forms.” 

We would like to celebrate and thank the team at the kinder for all their commitment, energy, passion and for making a difference every day for so many children and families.
