Following the announcement that the Y would be aiming to convert the former YMCA Op Shop on Lambert Street, Ararat, to a Youth Space in the midst of the pandemic in 2021, the Y made a genuine commitment and effort towards delivering a space that is deserving of the young people of Ararat.
During this period, we have explored a range of options, however, due to the limitations of the facility, and the increased external costs to develop the site, we have been unable to move forward with the project at this location.
The Y greatly values our relationship with the Ararat community and this decision has not been made lightly.
We remain dedicated in our commitment to support the community through our ongoing Children’s Services’ programs, which include Kindergarten and Outside School Hours Care.
