Joined the Y: 2018
At 22, Sarah followed her dreams of studying criminal law to New York city. Never thinking it was something she was capable of, Sarah quickly adapted to the concrete jungle and had thoughts of never leaving. Luckily for the Y and the communities it supports, Sarah brought her many lessons from living abroad home. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Business Law) from the University of Ballarat and a Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University. She completed a Probate internship with the Supreme Court Registry in 2013 and was a Deputy Court Registrar at the Melbourne Magistrates Court for five years. Sarah is now a solicitor and a valuable addition to the Y’s Ballarat Board of Directors. To Sarah, the Y is a community in itself. A way to support our young people and help nurture them by providing safe spaces and much needed services. She is committed to the Y and she believes the Y is committed to making positive changes and building strong individuals. She aspires to be a kind a compassionate person everyday and to helping people in a fulfilling way through both her career and her time with the Y.
